Meet the Principal

Dear Sawyer Road Elementary School Families,

My name is Jill Waldrep, and it is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Sawyer Road Elementary for the 2025–2026 school year. I am thrilled to join this vibrant and welcoming community and am eager to partner with you to support your child's education and overall growth.

With 27 years of experience in education, I began my career in Cobb County before joining Marietta City Schools in 2015. Most recently, I have served as the Assistant Principal at A.L. Burruss Elementary, a Primary Years Program (PYP) International Baccalaureate (IB) school. In that role, I have valued the opportunity to collaborate with students, families, and staff to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive both academically and personally.

As a leader, I am committed to being visible, accessible, and deeply engaged in the daily work of our school. I believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a successful school community, and I look forward to building meaningful connections with each of you. By staying involved and listening closely, I can better support the needs of our students and staff and help foster a positive, supportive environment where all learners can succeed.
