School Supply List
School Dress Code
Sawyer Road Elementary is a uniform-optional school.
The Board of Education of the City of Marietta recognizes that the dress and grooming of students are significant factors in the successful operation of the educational program. Furthermore, it is recognized as an educational responsibility of the school to make students aware that appropriate dress, appearance, and hygiene are conducive to their personal well-being and the well-being of others.
In keeping with these understandings, each student in the Marietta City Schools System shall be responsible for maintaining a dignified and well-groomed appearance while involved in all school activities or while acting as a representative of the school. The dress of students shall be appropriate for the activities of the school program in which they are participating. School principals may accordingly regulate the dress and grooming of students.
We encourage our students to wear School Spirit Wear/Marietta Spirit Wear on Fridays and mandatory during class field trips.

You can purchase your student's Spirit Wear online.
Transportation Changes
For your student(s) to change their transportation during dismissal, you will need to email srtransportation@marietta-city.k12.ga.us and notify them how they will be getting home. They will need to be made aware of any transportation changes before 1:30 p.m. that day.
Please include your child's full name and homeroom when emailing your transportation changes.
Excused Absences
If your student(s) are out for any number of days, please send in your excuse letter or doctor's note to srattendance@marietta-city.k12.ga.us. If you fail to send in your written excuse for your student(s) within 3 days of their absence, then they will be marked down as an unexcused absence.
Please review the MCS Attendance Policy in the MCS Family Guide on the Marietta City School District.
Bus Routes
Please take this opportunity to review your students' School Bus Route for the upcoming school year.
Safe Rider Program
Our Safe Rider Program is a student management program which promotes and teaches proper school bus safety. The core of the program promotes personal accountability as it relates to bus safety because unsafe choices endanger the safety of all passengers.
